ALL the draws are now available on the PGL website for 2014. An open draw which took place at Ulster Transport on Thursday night was witnessed by a hardy few who managed to keep their eyes awake all night!
There are some cracking ties.... but it's a case of "be careful what you wish for" as some clubmates have been drawn against each other in the opening rounds! At least, on the positive side for your Club.... the interest I'm sure will be huge with the "in house derbies"!
The PGL OPEN SINGLES kicks off on MON 28th AND TUES 29th April - Sections A and B play on the Monday evening and Sections C and D play on the Tuesday. There are 7 first round games played in Section A on the Monday with the second round of these ties being played the following evening. This clears us up so as not to interfere with the cycle race which will close large swathes of roads around Belfast.
Enjoy the draws - I'm sure there will lots of talking points coming up!!!!

Bryan, a big thank you to yourself, Davy and all involved last night in getting the draws completed it certainly is interesting and I am sure it has injected some real energy in to the fixtures this year. For my own club all the Old Bleach fixtures are on our own website www.oldbleachbowlingclub.co.uk. One thing I have found is that we have 8 home draws in the first round of the pairs could someone from the PGL please inform us what date we are to rearrange to for at least 2 of these fixtures? Thanks again for all the hard work! |

With 6 matches scheduled in the open pairs at Dunbarton, how are the visitors going to be offered a choice of 2 rinks ? Is there a set time or can they be played at different times through the day assuming some people don't work.

6 rinks so no problem playing 6 matches. Unfortunately the last pair drawn out will have to take the remaining rink but it's no advantage to the home pairing. Giving two rinks as a choice is a courtesy, not a necessity. At the end of the day the last two rinks picked are taking an either/or rink so there is actually still a choice.

Please note the change of date for the PGL Fours and Under 25 competitions due to Commonwealth Games commitments.
The FOURS SECOND ROUND is now on Tues 13th May
The UNDER 25 SINGLES FIRST ROUND is now Fri 16th May with the SECOND ROUND scheduled for Monday 26th May.
