From speaking with players on both teams I don't even think they know! I believe the IBA council have been waiting on making a decision for over 2 weeks now.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's being played on the date of the other quarter finals! That leaves a problem then to quickly sort out the Cookstown/Dunbarton v Portrush game before the semis!? I would have thought this game should have been arranged a long time ago!!??

I'm just thinking it's going to become even more complicated for Dunbarton to arrange the Portrush game as the following few days are the National Championship semis and finals? If Dunbarton have anyone in the Final the iBA couldn't ask them to play a Cup game THAT sAturday - that just leaves the following week (when light remember is fading - and certain Portrush players do not play a fast game!) is a QUARTER final going to be played while a SEMI final is played? This could start to desend into farce. If Cookestown win. at least they have lights to give more options? Oh my goodness.... what a season!

I just seen the date for the IBA CUP match, between COOKSTOWN V DUNBARTON, they are playing there last 16, match ON the 26th, when all the other clubs are playing there quarter final matches. I personally think its a disgrace, on the part the IBA ASSOCIATON, the club I feel sorry for is PORTRUSH. This match should have been weeks ago, when COOKSTOWN BEAT NICS.

I think that Cookstown should be thrown out of the competiton, because surely under the rules you only have a time limit between each round to ccomplete your game, but i think that the rules are being bent to suit Cookstown, maybe because the have certain members on the IBA COUNCIL.

To be fair to Cookstown, they gave Dunbarton several dates, which were turned down. The IBA stepped in and set this date between the sides - whereas Dunbarton would have been missing 2 skips if it was played during early July, now Cookstown are 2 players down for this date.
i'm not saying what is right or what is wtrong - that's for the IBA to sort out... but definitely not fair comment to say Cookstown should be thrown out. What have they done wrong to deserve that?
THe problem will now be that the SEMI Fnals are 2 weeks after this... there will be no chance of Dunbarton or Cookstown playing on the middle SAturday as that is a Championship date! Are we going to have a QUARTER final played whilst one SEMI is played? If so, it's certainly not helping the profile of the competition!

Were 7th June cup games washed out? Games played the next week after??. Then NICS green shut on 14th due to band contest!! Cookstown not at fault. Would have thought a date could have been imposed for game well before now though.

To remind everyone. As Santa said Dunbarton were waiting for the winners of NICS v Cookstown game postponed by a band contest!! Why would you play a game when you have a number of key players missing when the delay has got absolutely nothing to do with Dunbarton. I heard it was called off because it's a bit loud around the green!. Lurgan still play when the rally cars are roaring past their green when the Lurgan Park Rally is on!

As well as playing when the Lurgan Park Rally is on, a similar pipe band contest was staged in Lurgan Park on the 21st of June, but Lurgan managed to complete their bowls game too that same day. But let's clear up any confusion around how both clubs have ended up being in this position. Cookstown offered Dunbarton 3 dates, 2 of which fell AFTER the last scheduled league games, falling into the holiday break, a period when no games are scheduled and people who do not want to miss games especially the cup book their holidays. Also we did offer to play the game the week leading up to the last 8 but Cookstown turned this offer down also, which if had off been accepted the QF cud have gone ahead as planned. This in turn left it with the IBA to supply a date. Obviously the IBA have decided the fairest outcome was for the game to be played on an IC date so neither club could complain.
