Just curious to why 2 of the 3 contenders for the division 1 championship are playing their final game as per due date and the other contenders are playing their final game 3 days after the official closing date of the league fixtures. This is surely a big,big advantage to the team playing the 3 days later than the other 2 teams. Surely this would dictate that the team playing the later date would know exactly what they may need to possibly win the league title. Therefor would it not be more fair for the team playing 3 days later to bring their game forward to this week.?

which teams are you referring to? firstly barring a few major results I think it is now a 2 horse race for the league and neither of them will be playing on saturday, and it gives no advantage to anyone when they are played. The bowls will still have to be played regardless of when the games are.
great to see the league so competitive right to the very end, been a great league to play in all year with upto 5/6 teams in with a chance of winning it until recent weeks

Clubs with players involved in Irish Championships on 5th September will postpone their match.
Ards v Belmont will be moved too as Daly/Martin are in the pairs.
Ballymena v Dunbarton is moved with Ballymena triple and senior fours as well as P Convery from Dunbarton in the singles.
Old Bleach match moved as they are in the fours.
Mossley have finished their campaign so no need to postpone for A McKeown and R Bell in the Youth and Junior singles.

Thanks for clearing that up BRI. Great finish to the leagues this year could hardly have been any closer.

I do think this needs looked at for future years. It does give teams an advantage knowing what they need especially if it's only 1 or 2 points. This can be both to win the league or to stay up. If larn had a few more points I'm sure they wouldn't be happy knowing that the other team had an advantage 3 days later. Or for example willowfield wouldn't be happy if they had to play on sat and ewarts and transport didn't play until the tues knowing what they needed to stay up. Either the championships should be put back a week or the league finish a week earlier or have a week's break for all teams, so nobody has an advantage. Theire is a reason why all the premiership matches are played at the same time on the last day of the season. I'm sure sky would love to show 4 or 5 matches spread over the weekend but it would give teams an unfair advantage. I just think it's unfair to play all year especially if it's very close as this year not to have all the matches played at the same time on the last day.

If Larne had a few more points on the board then we'd quite happily play before other contenders, but we don't (due to frailties in the run in of not holding on to vital rink points). A problem that we need to rectify as a team.
Having said that as a team we are more than happy with the league campaign this season so far and will be hoping to round it off with a victory on Saturday but Willowfield are fighting for survival so it wont be easy.
Barring miracle results to finish the season then Larne will finish third. Belmont have put in 3 huge results and points haul recently and is hard to see them, with the greatest respect to Ards, not picking up another full house in their last game on Tues/Sat. (Will the final bowl at OB earlier in the season prove costly)
Dunbarton have a massive game at Ballymena on Tues and will surely need seven points to win title as Belmont hold the advantage in shots. Anyway, a very exciting finish in store and i for one would be delighted with Larne (7) Ballymena (6) and Ards (5.5) in the final round of fixtures
Good luck to all involved in title and survival battles.

Ridiculous situation. Why can't these games be played before now. Game last night at Belmont was scheduled for July and not played until September. Be interesting to know how things may well have been different if played before now but we never will!!! Pickie were flying high a few games ago, what incentive was there to be competitive last night?

The incentive as you say should be simple. To go out and play for your club with pride and do your best everytime you step on the green regardless of who or when you are playing.

Willowfield V Larne and Transport V Ewarts are being played this Saturday while Ards V Belmont and Ballymena v Dunbarton are scheduled for next week means that some teams might find an incentive by the scheduling of the later games through knowing exactly how many points they may need to either win the league or to know this team may be out of the running because they may not have gained enough points from their saturday game .in the other case how many points a team may need to avoid relegation, This is not the fault of individual teams ,the league fixtures should have been put back 1 week. But to say there's no incentives is wide of the mark

Scenario: Its piddling down, getting dark, ur cold and damp. Team is losing. Ur rink is behind and 5 or 6 down. Uv last bowl. Do u really care if you draw shot r not??

If the League fixtures were put back a week then games would be affected by the Under 25 International Series.
Bottom line is Dunbarton need seven to guarantee title, regardless of what or when they play. Belmont need Dunbarton to drop at least half point and then they need to get maximum points regardless of whether they play it before this Saturday, Tuesday or after Tuesday and Larne need a miracle.
In relegation Transport need a point to survive, Ewarts need two and a half points more than what Willowfield get and Ards like Larne need something magical to happen.
Regardless of when games are played every team plays each other home and away, every team plays eighteen games in a season. The table at the conclusion of those 18 games will decide Champions and relegated teams

Your right Santa, But after Saturdays fixtures the incentive for at least 1 team who play the following week will be crystasl clear for all to see.

Depends on the set up of the head, the chance of that 5 or 6 for a half point or rink point. If that option was still there I would like to think any skip on my rink or team would try their best
